StatDoor v1.01 by J. Aho [M6010]
This is an 'user stat door' for MeBBSNet Pro.
Files you should have:
StatDoor - The Door 7880 bytes
StatDoor.Doc - This file 5611 bytes
StatDoor.cfg - The configuration file 395 bytes
To run this Door you need:
Amiga
OS 2.04+
mebbsutility.library 1.21+
MeBBSNet Pro runing
What does StatDoor do?
With this 'user stat door' the user can see all the stats that the standard
'user stat' in MeBBSNet shows plus the privilege settings. But this door has
more than that, it can be used to edit the most of the things the 'adjust'
function can edit plus a lot of new things.
The door can be used to edit the address (I haven't seen any doors which can
do this and by som reason there is no way to change the address in MeBBSNet),
phone number, alias (handler). The door can be used to change computer type,
expert mode (on/off), graphic modes (maximum of 6 different types), screen
lines, characters/row and editor (line/fullscreen).
When running the door: To edit type the number which is left of the thing
you want to edit and then press return.
To see you privilege bits type 'p' and press return.
To see which version you do have, type '#' and
press return.
The configuration file:
The door uses a configuration file, this due the 6 privilege flags with the
standard name 'Custom flag x' will not say much about what the user can do
when this byte is set. The configuration file is used to name the graphic
modes and the last one is that countrys do have different ways to display
the address. I use the scandinavian way to display the address and then I
have to change places with the zip and state (and the state string I call
for country fro we don't have states in Sweden).
If you don't have a configuration file, then the door will display the
standard address, and name the graphic modes for gfx0 - gfx5 and name
the custom flags for Custom flag 1 - Custom flag 6. The door will then
display a message to the user that you don't have a configuration file
and leve a message to the sysop about this.
The name of the configuration file is 'StatDoor.cfg' and the door looks
in 'MeBBSNet:ConfigFiles/' (don't use the ' in the dir and file name!).
There is some rules you have to follow when you write the 'stat.con'
and those are:
§ Line 1 - 5: Max 12 characters long! Address row names
§ Line 6 - 11: Max 15 characters long! Graphic modes
§ Line 12 - 17: Max 25 characters long! Custom flags
§ Line 18 : Max 6 characters long! Parenthesis color
§ Line 19 : Max 6 characters long! Number color (those in the par.)
§ Line 20 : Max 6 characters long! Text color
§ Line 21 : Max 6 characters long! Info color
§ Line 22 : Max 6 characters long! Main prompt color
§ Line 23 : Max 6 characters long! Press Return prompt color
If you use more characters than I say you should, then will not all
characters be showed by the door and it can make that the text will
not appear where it should.
Here is the 'StarDoor.cfg' that I use:
---cut---

the color names, but I'll give the list of the
colors that you can use (use only BIG letters)
RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, PURPLE, CYAN, WHITE.
If you use another name or nothing in a color
line, then this door will not choose any color.
How do I do to use StatDoor?
Add to your menu file the following row's:
---cut---
OPTION '[BUTTON]':
FUNCTION RunDoor [PATH]StatDoor
END
---cut---
Where [BUTTON] is the button you want to use to start this door and where
[PATH] is the full path to where you have the StatDoor.
Future additions to StatDoor
° The ability to change HotKeys (on/off)
° Show how much Free Bytes a user has
° Change download/upload protocol
Other programs made by me:
° ReqDoor - File Requester like those 'Elite BBS' file requesters
for AmiExpress
° ChatDoor - Chat Requester and Chatter (still working with this one)
° Forgotten Realms Encounter Generator - A random monster encouter generator
for the AD&D rpg made by TSR. (if you wan't I can send you a beta version)
° PHB/DMG/MM Reader - This is a small utility for read the CD-Rom disk for PC
from TSR with Players Handbook, Dungeon Master Guide, Monstrous Manual and
then display what you want to read. (have to wait to the day when TSR will
start to sell the CD-Rom, for they didn't want me to make this utility for
Amiga)
